Getting to the Wedding

AIR TRANSPORT

There are two main airports when travelling to Southern Ontario for the wedding

Toronto Pearson International
Buffalo Airport (USA)

I recommend Air Transat for the cheapest direct flights and they fly everyday from Gatwick.
Buffalo is a good option if you are coming from the USA as you can then rent a car and easily drive across the border where you will be in the hive of wedding activity in 30 minutes.

TRAINS

The Go Trains are an easy way to get to and from Toronto - our closest station is in Hamilton or Burlington but there are many GO bus routes which connect to the trains as well. Check out
www. gotransit.com for more information.

CAR

Car Rental is highly recommended as taxis can be expensive in Canada so although great for short distances they really are not ideal if you want to move around and see a few places. The exchange rate is brilliant at the moment 1. 85 to every pound sterling so cars can be had at great prices.

In the local area a good cab firm is BLUE LINE Taxi  TEL: 905 525 2583
You can book a cab in advance with them for the wedding day and they will give you a discount - quote Angela & Nicky's Wedding.

Summer Fun

The Golden Horseshoe of Ontario is a great place to be in the summer with lots of great places to go and exciting activities to do. Here is a selection of places that we like to go to...

For Family Fun:

Confederation Park

A local park that snakes around lake Ontario. Great for a walk in the morning or late afternoon. You can stop at Hutches for traditional fish and chips and an ice cream. There are free beach volleyball courts and paths for bikes and roller skates. Within the park you will find a big lighthouse that offers a great view of the lake and for paid activities there is our favourite mini golf place in Adventure Village and that also features an arcade, batting cages etc... for the kiddies.

Wild Waterworks can also be found in Confederation Park - bring sunscreen and lunch if you want anything more glamorous than a hotdog and fries. The water slides will make the kids very happy indeed!
